DaisyLadies ry on Suomen ensimm\u00e4inen naisten kotouttamiseen keskittyv\u00e4 toimija, ja siten yhdistys on toiminut uraauurtavana nostaessaan esiin naisten kotoutumiseen liittyvi\u00e4 kysymyksi\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Tarve yhdistyksen perustamiselle alkoi Suomeen muuttaneiden naisten yksin\u00e4isyydest\u00e4 ja ulkopuolisuuden tunteesta uudessa kotimaassaan. Toiminnan alussa maahan muuttaneet naiset kokoontuivat Hissun kotona. Siell\u00e4 he p\u00e4\u00e4siv\u00e4t turvallisessa ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6ss\u00e4 keskustelemaan ja jakamaan yhteisi\u00e4 kokemuksia el\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4\u00e4n: arkiel\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n liittyvist\u00e4 haasteista uudessa kotimaassaan sek\u00e4 vakavammistakin haasteista, joita he olivat joutuneet el\u00e4m\u00e4ns\u00e4 aikana kohtaamaan. Naisten kesken jaettiin my\u00f6s onnen hetket, ja niit\u00e4 luotiin yhdess\u00e4 my\u00f6s lis\u00e4\u00e4.<\/p>\n

Vaikka naiset tulivat eri maista sek\u00e4 eri uskonto – ja yhteiskuntaluokista, heit\u00e4 kuitenkin yhdisti kaksi asiaa: naiseus ja se, ett\u00e4 he olivat muuttaneet uuteen maahan. N\u00e4ist\u00e4 yhdist\u00e4vist\u00e4 tekij\u00f6ist\u00e4 l\u00e4hti liikkeelle toimintamme ydin, joka yh\u00e4 t\u00e4n\u00e4kin p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 on meille t\u00e4rke\u00e4 eli vertaistuki, jota naiset saavat toisiltaan.<\/p>\n

DaisyLadies ry on saanut nimens\u00e4 sitke\u00e4st\u00e4, vahvasta ja hyvin vaatimattomasta kukasta, p\u00e4iv\u00e4nkakkarasta eli Daisyst\u00e4. Se kasvaa ja p\u00e4rj\u00e4\u00e4 kaikissa olosuhteissa, jos se vain saa tarpeeksi l\u00e4mp\u00f6\u00e4 ja ravintoa. Kukka symboloi viel\u00e4 t\u00e4n\u00e4kin p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 asiakkaittemme periksiantamattomuutta sek\u00e4 p\u00e4rj\u00e4\u00e4mist\u00e4 ja kukoistustaan uudessa kotimaassaan.<\/p>\n

The organisation called DaisyLadies was established in 2000 by H\u00fclya \u201cHissu\u201d Kyt\u00f6, originally from Turkey now settled in Finland, along with other women of similar circumstances. The organisation is focused on the social integration of immigrant women and, since being first of its kind in Finland, has acted as a pioneer in raising questions concerning the social integration of immigrant women.<\/p>\n

The need for such an organisation stems from the loneliness and the feelings of being an outsider the immigrant women experience in their new homeland. In the beginning the women used to gather at Hissu\u2019s home. This was a safe and secure environment where the women could talk and share common experiences:\u00a0 challenges they faced in their everyday lives as well as the more serious hardships they have had to face. Joy and happiness were also something the women could share, all the while creating new memories together.<\/p>\n

Even though the women come from all social classes, there are two things in common; womanhood and the fact that they have moved to and are now living in a foreign country. These two aspects come together to create peer support the women can give each other, something that has been at the core of this organisation since its very beginning<\/p>\n

DaisyLadies ry was named after the daisy, a flower both modest and resilient. If there is enough warmth, the daisy can grow in any condition. To this day, it symbolises the determination our women have towards living and thriving in their new homeland.[\/vc_column_text]
